A Toronto man charged with arson says he will plead guilty and then appeal a judge’s decision to not stay the charges, claiming his right to a speedy trial was compromised. Andrew Hill, who is facing charges of arson and break and enter from two incidents nearly three years ago, is set to be back in court June 2 to set a trial date. He was charged in connection with a structure fire that destroyed a Hamilton Point Road cottage in Bracebridge on June 22, 2022.

Customers are told to immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo to receive a replacement handle. O’Connor became the airport’s first CEO in 2019. This position replaced the airport manager role that was held for 12 years by Mark Stirling, who retired in December 2018. O’Connor had worked as airport manager and progressed to the role of CEO for the Niagara District Airport prior to coming to Muskoka.

The Bracebridge business community is growing by one. The Town of Bracebridge and SmartCentres real estate development company have confirmed Winners will be opening a store near the Walmart location. “A building permit has been issued, and construction is expected to begin shortly on a new building in the SmartCentres development, which will be the future home of Winners,” said Jennifer Clancy, the town’s manager of economic development.
