It seems you can’t spend a couple of months without tripping over a Capcom collection. Capcom has honoured its incredibly storied fighting game history with three collections – one celebrating Street Fighter, another celebrating Marvel vs. Capcom and one with everything in between. But with all those collections, the consensus on the strength of those titles was already resounding.

When credit rolled on Doom: Eternal, I was pretty content. While I acknowledge some didn’t enjoy it as much as I did, I felt like the new Doom game didn’t have many more places to go. It felt complete in many ways, both mechanically and narratively. But then, when The Dark Ages was announced, I was shocked that iD would return to Doom after wrapping everything up so neatly in Eternal. But having played The Dark Ages, it’s an entirely different beast to Eternal – that much is obvious.

Nintendo Australia has dropped its first Nintendo Switch 2 trailer, and they’ve gone with people a little more local than Paul Rudd. The ad features Andy Lee (Hamish and Andy), as well as AFL footballers Patrick Cripps and Marcus Bontempelli who are all playing Mario Kart World and showing off the new Game Chat function on the Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer mainly focuses on Mario Kart World and Game Chat but also shows off the new magnetic feature of the Nintendo Switch 2.
