Stamford Mercury
The Stamford Mercury, which is also known as the Lincoln, Rutland and Stamford Mercury, the Rutland and Stamford Mercury, and the Rutland Mercury, is located in Stamford, Lincolnshire, England. It proudly asserts itself as "Britain's oldest continuously published newspaper title," a claim that is contested by the Berrow's Worcester Journal, which started in 1690. The Mercury has been in circulation since 1712, although its masthead previously stated a founding year of 1695 and continues to refer to itself as "Britain's Oldest Newspaper."

A Greater Lincolnshire devolution deal has been published by the Government as part of today’s Autumn Statement from Chancellor Jeremy Hunt. It is set to mean more powers and funding handed to the county – as well as the creation of a directly elected mayor and follows years of talks on the topic.
