    The Michigan Department of Transportation is set to begin resurfacing M-29 between Chartier Road and Belle River Avenue in Marine City starting later this month. MDOT is investing $1 million in the road's repair and will include an asphalt overlay, joint repairs, and upgrading sidewalks to Americans with Disabilities Act standards. The road construction will start April 28 and is expected to last until June. One lane will remain open in each direction during the construction.

    One man died and another was critically injured in a crash on I-94 in Casco Township early Friday. Deputies were dispatched to westbound I-94 near County Line Road about 2:30 a.m. to reports of a blue Dodge Charger traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes at a high rate of speed, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office. A collision was reported while they were responding.
