The hydro in West Oxford generates an average of 165MWh (megawatt-hour) of electricity each year, enough to power 60 homes. Solar panels on the roof contribute another 8MWh. The facility is managed by volunteers with a contractor providing technical support.

On December 29 last year in Bicester shopping park off Pioneer Way, a man aged in his 30s was suspected to have been stabbed. Three men have been charged in connection with the incident. Tristan Burke, 34, of Woodpiece Road, Upper Arncott, was charged with one count of attempted murder in connection with this investigation.

    Oxford Crown Court (Image: Oxford Mail) A pensioner has denied raping and sexually assaulting two young girls. David Kuca, of New Road, East Hagbourne, is facing 14 counts of child sex offences, accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl in the late 1990s and a 13-year-old girl in the mid-2010s. Kuca, 80, has been on trial at Oxford Crown Court since April 29 and he previously pleaded not guilty to all counts at a pre-trial hearing in May last year.
