The Chester Standard is a weekly newspaper that is available for free in the Chester region, reaching an audience of 102,000 readers. Since July 2006, visitors to Chester have the option to purchase the paper for 40p at various shops, but it continues to be delivered at no cost to local residents. This publication is part of the Chester Evening Leader family and is produced by NWN Media. In 2008, the Chester Standard was recognized by the UK's Newspaper Society as the Free Weekly Newspaper of the Year for the North West, North East, and Yorkshire regions.

    Cheshire Police has confirmed that it is investigating a ‘suspicious incident’ reported in Warrington. On Wednesday, April 30, two 14-year-old girls were walking along Canons Road in Hood Manor shortly before 3.15pm. It is reported that they spotted a man standing outside St James Church, ‘who they believed may have attempted to take photographs of them’. They reported that the man then continued to follow them until reaching Sycamore Lane.

    Jack Wyatt (Image: Cheshire Police) A MAN has been jailed for more than two years after robbing mobile phones from a shop in Cheshire. Jack Wyatt, of Kent House Road, Beckenham, London, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Monday, June 2, where he was sentenced to 30 months. The 35-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to robbery. On Friday, March 7, 2025, Wyatt entered a phone store in Market Street, Crewe.
