That visit had a profound effect on the then nine-year-old because it sowed the seeds of a journey that has led to him becoming the town’s top police officer.

Look back - Piles of bricks, rubble and a sign promoting healthy eating are all that remain (Image: Newsquest) On this day in 2012, the final chapter closed on the original Highwood Primary School in Bushey Mill Lane as demolition crews reduced its once-bustling buildings to rubble. Headteacher Poula Budge, joined by contractors from Hertfordshire County Council, watched the dismantling of the site, which had housed the school since 1949.
