WAUSAU − The Grand Theater has announced what it calls its "biggest lineup of shows in recent history" and will bring 39 performances to the stage in downtown Wausau between August 2025 and May 2026. The Grand announced its 2025-26 season lineup in a news release Monday. Kandise Sheahen, 38, was found guilty of negligently subjecting an individual at risk to abuse, causing death. Sheahen was her grandmother's caretaker and repeatedly refused medical care for her despite dangerously high blood sugar levels. Sheahen promoted supplements on social media and said she distrusted the medical profession. The grandmother died from diabetic ketoacidosis, a complication of diabetes. Sheahen faces up to 15 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.

22-year-old Jurnee R. Robertson is held on $100,000 cash bail for a fatal car crash in Lincoln County. Robertson faces charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, cocaine possession and marijuana possession. Allison M. Jones, 25, died from her injuries after being extracted from the vehicle by the Merrill Fire Department. Robertson admitted to consuming alcohol and marijuana earlier that day, and drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle according to the criminal complaint.
