WBFO-FM (Buffalo, NY)
WBFO serves as the NPR affiliate for Buffalo, New York, primarily featuring a public news and talk format. The station operates from its studios located in the Lower Terrace area of downtown Buffalo, sharing the space with WNED-TV and WNED-FM. Previously, WBFO was based at the University at Buffalo’s South campus, also known as the Main Street Campus. It has also secured a lease for a satellite studio in Toronto, Ontario, which is not yet in use. Additionally, WBFO has two permanent satellite stations: WUBJ, broadcasting on FM 88.1 in Jamestown, New York, and WOLN, on FM 91.3 in Olean, New York.

Today is Equal Pay Day, an observance during Women’s History Month that highlights salary discrepancies based on gender and other demographics. Researchers with the Cornell Industrial and Labor Relations Co-Lab in Buffalo used the opportunity to present their findings from a focus group study of women in Erie County. Across industry and across education levels, women earn about $2.74 less per hour on average than male counterparts locally.
