A ruling from the Minnesota Supreme Court this week clarifies what is considered a 'public place' to include the inside of a car and it's stirring some controversy. Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt tells WCCO's Adam and Jordana even so, law enforcement still needs probable cause to conduct a search. "You can't just go eeny, meeny, miny, moe, I'm choosing you and searching your car," says Sheriff Witt. "The other thing is, we need to remember that driving is not a right, it's a privilege.

A 14-year old boy is under arrest after police say he mistakenly shot his 13-year old friend. It happened around 1:30 Tuesday morning inside a home in the 2400 block of Ferrant Place in the Minneapolis northside Jordan neighborhood. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara tells WCCO's Adam and Jordana that police were "familiar" with both of the boys and say there were two adult women and other juveniles in the house when the shooting took place.
