    ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Hundreds of people filled the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Saturday morning — many of whom said they had been stuck there since Friday due to winter weather conditions. Metro Atlanta was under a winter weather advisory from 5 a.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday. More than 1,500 flights were canceled amid on-and-off ground stops on Friday, most of which were from the Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines.

    MARIETTA, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) - Police in Georgia say a 17-year-old mother is facing charges after she was allegedly spotted digging a hole in her backyard for the purpose of burying her dead newborn. Marietta Police say officers responded to a home around 3 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a possible “newborn infant” death. When officers arrived, they found a baby dead at the home, WANF reports. Investigators worked through the night conducting interviews and collecting evidence.

    WINDER, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Apalachee High School students will go back to class full-time after the mass shooting on Sept. 4 that claimed the lives of two teachers and two students. Students have been going to school for half-days since late last month to help ease them back in. The hall where the shooting happened will remain closed. Because of that, students will be bussed to another location for social studies.

    ATLANTA, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) - Two police officers are recovering in the hospital after they were shot while responding to a reported burglary at a gun store, according to officials. The suspect, who has not been identified, was killed in a shootout with police. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called to look into the incident. At about 11:45 p.m. on Friday, police were called to Adventure Outdoors, a sport and gun store in Smyrna.
