(KSLA) - The mother of a child with ADHD is sharing her experiences and struggles getting ahold of her child’s medication amid a nationwide shortage. “It has been the most horrible experience, and it’s really been a hard experience as a parent. I ended up being on the phone to the doctor’s office crying because no one has it, and I’ve asked them, ‘What do I do?’” Jennifer Dykes said.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Run for the Wall (RFTW) is the largest and longest organized cross-country motorcycle run of its kind in the world. RFTW honors veterans and their families and friends and also raises awareness of those still missing – Prisoners of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA). The run starts in Ontario, California and ends 10 days later at the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. The bikers then have a 3-day run from D.C. to the Middle East Conflicts Wall in Marseilles, IL.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - First Lieutenant Edwards from the U.S. Army joined KSLA on Friday, May 10 to talk to about an upcoming event specifically for the military community. On Saturday, May 18, the U.S. Army Shreveport Commemorative D-Day 80th Anniversary Norwegian Foot March will take place at Barksdale Air Force Base. The 8.6-mile ruck march will extend overnight. This event is only for personnel who are at least 18 years old and/or on active-duty orders.
Standoff underway in Bossier City

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) — Someone is holed up a house in Bossier City, and authorities are trying to get them to surrender peacefully. The standoff in the 2600 block of Oakley Street started about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (May 7). It began as a hostage situation, but the two hostages have since been released, city spokesman Louis Johnson said. The SWAT team and negotiators are on the scene and hoping for a peaceful resolution, he added. This is a developing situation.
