“It's really cozy. It feels homey. The menu is delicious. Whenever there's a combo with some kind of egg, some kind of potato—the big brunch—it’s the go-to. Theirs comes with an amazing breakfast sausage, my meat of choice. I'm not a big bacon girl, but sausage is always hit or miss. You wanna have an intentional sausage. It's mostly about the seasoning, [which can feel like an] afterthought. I would rather have no meat than an unseasoned, freezerburned option.

“Kitty Travers is amazing. She started her ice cream company around the same time I started Violet. At that point, I was just a market stall and she was making it out of her home. Now she’s got this amazing space and sells it at delis, like Leila’s Shop and E5 Bakehouse. She's hyper-seasonal. She gets incredible produce and churns it into really interesting flavours, [and] she makes ice cream cakes, which I've ordered before for my birthday.
