DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dale County Commission Chairman has paid over $3,000 for missed Foreign Corrupt Practices Act deadlines, according to YellowHammer News. Chairman Steve McKinnon paid the amount in what he says was three months’ worth of penalties because of missed deadlines last year. McKinnon says his accountant was locked out of the account because it had been years since campaign reports had been due.

The Birmingham based news outlet reports that Chairman Steve McKinnon paid three months’ worth of penalties because of missed deadlines in 2023. McKinnon told YellowHammer News that his accountant and daughter, Courtney McKinney, was locked out of the account because it had been years since they had to pay campaign reports.

HENRY COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is saying goodbye to one officer as he makes his way across the rainbow bridge. A memorial service was held on Tuesday night at Wright Funeral Home in Headland by the office for K9 Falco. Falco unexpectedly died at the age of seven on September 11th. Born in Hungary in 2015, he was brought to the United States where he served as a dual-purpose K9 certified police officer until retiring in January of this year.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Before the rain came on Saturday evening across the Wiregrass, dogs got a chance to cool off at Water World in Dothan during the third annual Water World Doggie Dip. Water World turned off its wave pull so dogs could get in the water and the kid’s cove was open for dogs that were a little shy. The event started Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and it lasted until 12 p.m. Each dog also received a Water World-branded tennis ball upon entry, while supplies lasted.
