However, a digital gear selector on the center touchscreen did make its way to the Model Y refresh, which is disappointing. To select a gear, you have to use the screen — or redundant physical controls on the overhead console. Considering how failure-prone our long-term Model Y’s touchscreen was, it gives me pause to have a very important set of controls be a bunch of pixels on a screen.

Tesla is recalling nearly all of its Cybertrucks — more than 46,000 vehicles — over an issue with an exterior trim panel that may detach. The glued-on cant rail, an exterior trim piece made of stainless steel, may detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. To fix the issue, Tesla service will replace the cant rail for free.

I’m far more equipped to appreciate fine interior appointments like newly available semi-aniline leather upholstery and ventilated front seats.
