CHICAGO (WGN) — A little girl is recovering in the hospital on Wednesday morning after she was shot on the city’s South Side overnight. Chicago police say the gunfire erupted just before 10 p.m. after an argument broke out between the child’s family and the occupants of a white SUV in the 3000 block of South State Street in Douglas. Officers said the victim, an 8-year-old girl, was in a vehicle with family members when they got into an argument with the occupants of a nearby white SUV.

U.S. President Donald Trump claims a ceasefire between Iran and Israel was “in effect” on Tuesday, after expressing deep frustration with both sides for violating the agreement he brokered. Israel earlier accused Iran of launching missiles into its airspace after the truce was supposed to take effect. The Iranian military denied firing on Israel, state media reported.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Israel and Iran violated ceasefire terms by carrying out attacks against each other after an early Tuesday deadline to stop hostilities, but that Israel was going to “turn around” its jets and stop its assault. Trump, in comments to reporters at the White House before departing for the NATO summit at The Hague, expressed disappointment over the continued attacks. “They violated it, but Israel violated it, too,” Trump said.

CHICAGO (WGN) — A teen boy is recovering in the hospital on Thursday morning after he was badly injured when gunfire erupted during a fight near a lakefront beach on the city’s South Side overnight. Police say the shooting unfolded just before 10 p.m. in the 600 block of East 31st Street, near 31st Street Beach in Douglas. According to police, the victim, a 17-year-old boy, was outside in the area when a fight broke out between multiple people.
