    The incident occurred at Clareview Park, in Ballybane, at around 2.50pm on Sunday May 18. All three drivers were brought to University Hospital Galway, and one of them, Aidan McNern, subsequently passed away. Aidan, who was in his 40s, was originally from Donegal but had been living in Galway for some time. There were no other injuries reported. Gardaí are renewing their appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

    The incident occurred on Friday June 13 at about 8pm in the Spanish Arch area of Galway City. A gardaí spokesperson said that a man was assaulted by a group of youths. The injured party was punched and kicked during the course of this assault. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. “Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or with any other information to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000 or the Garda confidential line on 1800666111.”

    Gardaí said that between 11pm on Tuesday June 10 and 4am on Thursday June 12, there were a number of cars broken into in Casilean Oir in Athenry. These included a 07C Red Honda Civic, a 161G blue Volvo V60, a 171DL grey Toyota Landcruiser and a 202L blue Skoda Fabia.

    Clare County Council has recently unveiled a bust of Dr Brendan O’Regan at Áras Contae an Chláir in Ennis. The ceremony celebrated Dr O’Regan’s “extraordinary legacy” in industry, tourism, and peacebuilding, and was attended by elected members and family members of the Sixmilebridge native. The council explained Dr O’Regan’s career began in the hospitality industry, as he was appointed as Catering Comptroller at Foynes flying boat base in 1943, a key refuelling point for transatlantic seaplanes.
