It’s been described by multiple observers that the Phoenix Suns under owner Mat Ishbia function with a ready-fire-aim approach. The Suns have now removed three head coaches in the past three offseasons and exited the 2024-25 regular season seemingly with a plan: Finding an identity and a new coach are obvious priorities that Ishbia spoke about alongside CEO Josh Bartelstein and president of basketball operations and general manager James Jones on Thursday.

The Phoenix Suns on Monday fired Mike Budenholzer, the team announced. “Competing at the highest level remains our goal, and we failed to meet expectations this season. Our fans deserve better. Change is needed,” the team said in a statement. He marks the third Suns head coach fired in the two-plus seasons since owner Mat Ishbia took over. It comes as the Suns took a step back for the third consecutive season, with a 36-46 record and missing the play-in and playoff rounds.

Those five teams are expected to circle back on Durant trades this coming offseason, the reporter said Wednesday while on The Pat McAfee Show. “It just hasn’t worked out in Phoenix. From a wholistic perspective, there’s going to be changes coming to Phoenix, barring a miracle finish to the year,” Charania said.

Arizona Wildcats big men Henri Veesaar and Emmanuel Stephen entered their names in the transfer portal on Monday, according to multiple reports. Stephen opted for the portal earlier in the day before Veesaar’s decision came hours later. The 7-foot Veesaar appeared in 37 games (five starts) for the Wildcats last year. He averaged 9.4 points, five rebounds and 1.3 assists across 20.8 minutes per game. The four-star prospect’s best game of the year came against Arizona State on March 4.
