WEST TOWN — Do Division Fest returns late this month with performers ranging from garage rock bands to singer-songwriters and hip-hop artists. The annual street festival runs May 30-June 1 on Division Street between Damen Avenue and Leavitt Street in Ukrainian Village. It’s hosted by the West Town Chamber of Commerce with musical acts booked by Subterranean and the Empty Bottle, and it’s sponsored by radio station WXRT.

WICKER PARK — Following a successful launch of a pilot to install rat birth control in alleys behind Wicker Park and Bucktown’s commercial corridors, the product is now being temporarily offered to local residents and business owners at a wholesale price. Special Service Area No. 33, which is administered by the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, began the rat birth control pilot last month.

BUCKTOWN — A beloved pizza restaurant that’s called Bucktown home for more than two decades — and was founded 54 years ago in Rogers Park — will close this summer. My Pi Pizza, 2010 N. Damen Ave., will serve its final pie in June, owners announced Thursday. Li’L Guys Deli, which is attached to the business, will also close, according to its website. My Pi has served up deep-dish pizzas to Bucktown neighbors since 2000.

A second Great Chicago Fire begins, and firemen now must race around the city to “safehouses” where people are partying the night away and demanding to be entertained “to the brink of ecstasy through music, dance and surreal decision-making.”After successfully reaching each location, a showdown takes place against Japanese noise rock band Boredoms at the Board of Trade.

WICKER PARK — Quimby’s, an iconic Wicker Park bookstore known for selling zines, comics and graphic novels, has new owners for the first time in almost 30 years. Peter Miles Bergman and Cody Kasselman bought the business last month from longtime owner Eric Kirsammer. The duo have vowed to keep the store mostly as-is while improving behind-the-scenes processes and eventually expanding community engagement efforts.
