    BROOKFIELD, Mo. -- A burglary took place in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 22, at the Brookfield School District. According to Dr. Hoyt, Brookfield Superintendent, burglars broke into the district building. No one was inside the school at the time of the incident. Rumors are circulating about the amount of cash stolen, but Hoyt says he's unable to confirm or correct those rumors while a Brookfield Police Department investigation is ongoing.

    LEXINGTON, Mo. -- According to Missouri Casenet, a lawsuit has been filed in the Lexington home explosion case. Online documents name four different companies who may be held responsible for the events leading up to the house explosion that claimed the life of one young boy and severely injured his father and sister.

    Update (4/9/25, 9:38 p.m.) - KMZU's Joe Aull, after a debfriefing by Lexington city officials, reports the explosion happened at 7:45 p.m. on the corner of 18th and Franklin in Lexington. A contractor, whose name is not being disclosed at this time, hit a Liberty gas line, causing the explosion. Three structures have been seriously damaged. Any injuries sustained in the blast have not yet been released.
