Maricopa County Health Inspectors visit hundreds of restaurants every month, paying unannounced visits to check on the operations, cleanliness and safety of Valley kitchens. The inspectors rate the restaurants, noting violations and the more serious priority violations, on reports that are published online. Restaurants with serious issues require a scheduled re-inspection. In March, violations ranged from dirty equipment and moldy food to kitchens crawling with cockroaches.

Walter Station Brewery is closing its flagship Phoenix taproom and restaurant at the end of April. Located on 41st and Washington streets just east of downtown Phoenix, the brewery and taproom find their home in a former firehouse. The taproom and restaurant fits inside the old firetruck garage, with towering ceilings and giant roll-up doors. Currently, they open onto a small patio filled with picnic tables and often, live music.

Just over a year after making its Arizona debut, Ambrogio15 has closed at the Biltmore Fashion Park. The restaurant posted an announcement to its Instagram account on Monday. "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Ambrogio15," the statement said. "We are incredibly grateful for the amazing support we’ve received from the neighborhood and our loyal customers."The San Diego-based company opened its Phoenix restaurant in February 2024.
