The Register was established in 1896, while The Bee began its journey as the Daily Bee in 1899.

    The victim in the April 17 deadly shooting at Airport Mart Exxon was shot more than once, according to police. “The victim was shot multiple times with a firearm in the parking [lot] of the business,” according to a complaint filed Friday in Danville Circuit Court. Authorities arrested a Danville man, 21-year-old Jaelynn Lowen, Sunday in Louisiana following the homicide of Pinakin Patel, 47, according to a Monday news release from the Danville Police Department.

    A Danville man has been arrested and accused of helping the suspect in Thursday’s homicide flee the scene. Keontae Malik Tarpley, 21, has been charged with accessory after the fact following the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Pinakin Patel at Airport Mart Exxon at 1385 South Boston Road on Thursday afternoon.
