The Capital Journal
The Capital Journal is a newspaper based in Pierre, South Dakota, established in 1881. It caters to the residents of Pierre and the nearby areas, such as Fort Pierre. As of December 2012, the newspaper had a daily circulation of 10,750 and releases new editions from Monday to Friday, taking breaks on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Since its inception, it has served as the official print record for Hughes and Stanley counties in South Dakota.

Fair weather and clear skies welcomed a gaggle of youngsters to Fun Time Adventures in Fort Pierre on Saturday, for the venue's first ever Easter Egg hunt. With a special appearance by the Easter Bunny delighting the gathered children, eager and keen to run and play after the long winter doldrums, the event kicked off with predictable chaos as the young children couldn't stand to wait for the mark and set out to race each other to the best prizes.
