THE GORGE — The Hood River Valley High (HRV) Eagle boys golf team capped a successful season by having three players compete in the OSAA Class 5A state tournament May 19-20 at OGA Golf Course in Woodburn. The Eagles’ three-member squad included senior John Olsen and the freshman duo of Aksel Betz and David Shepherd. Olsen and Betz earned top-20 finishes out of the 62-player field. The Eagles didn’t have the standard four-player team score because they had three players who qualified individually.
