Eater Carolinas

Eater is a network of websites dedicated to food and dining, owned by Vox Media. It was established in 2005 by Lockhart Steele and Ben Leventhal, initially focusing on New York City’s dining and nightlife scene. In 2009, Eater expanded to include a national site and by 2012, it was covering almost 20 cities. In late 2013, Vox Media acquired Eater along with two other websites that were part of the Curbed Network. By 2017, Eater featured around 25 local sites across the United States, Canada, and England. The platform has received recognition from the James Beard Foundation Awards on four occasions.
