The curfew went into effect on June 10 amid ongoing anti-ICE protests in the area, and originally ran from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. One day before lifting the curfew, on June 16, Mayor Bass announced that the curfew would commence at 10 p.m. The curfew applied to about a one-mile swatch of Downtown Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, including the Arts District and Chinatown.
