    Cobbydale Forge and Ecology Building Society are backing the event, on Saturday, June 21. The Solstice Saunter trail run follows a five-mile course through the Bolton Abbey estate. All proceeds from the event, organised by the Airedale Dodgers, go to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.     The school is amongst over 200 across the region where the mechanisms have been provided free by Yorkshire Water. As part of the sustainable drainage systems, or SuDS, rainwater run-off from the roof is diverted via a rerouted downpipe into a planter. Water not soaked up by plants is then released slowly into the drains, lessening the impact on the network.

    Robert 'Bob' Pearson, chief projectionist at the Picture House in Keighley, has clocked up 50 years showing movies. And the achievement is being marked with a special screening of 1975 classic Jaws – one of the first blockbusters Bob projected as a young man. He will give an introduction before the start of the film, at the North Street cinema on Sunday (June 8), 7.30pm. And a short video – made by Picture House staff member Dominic Smith – celebrating Bob's career, is being shown.
