On May 2, 2023, police say Ticquarn Thomas approached the student with a knife as she was taking out the trash at the Hamilton Court apartments around 2 a.m., threatened her, and attempted to sexually assault her. He then fled on foot east down Chestnut Street. Thomas was arrested and charged a few days later.
