    A convicted murderer is on the run after absconding from HMP Castle Huntly Near Dundee. The search to trace Raymond McCourt continues after he was reported missing to Police Scotland at 5.30pm on Tuesday. Officers have now released a new image of the 59-year-old in a bid to track him down. The last confirmed sighting of McCourt was captured at premises on Duke Street, Glasgow, at 4.40pm on Tuesday.

    First Minister John Swinney is demanding immediate answers from the head of UHI Perth over the collapse of its aviation engineering subsidiary. Air Service Training (Engineering) Limited (AST) is a wholly owned subsidiary of UHI Perth. It plunged into administration earlier this month, putting 28 jobs at risk. More than 190,000 students have qualified through its courses since it was founded in 1931.

    A new M&S Foodhall is set to open at Ninewells Hospital this summer. Work on the new store is understood to be starting next week, ahead of its opening on the concourse in June. WH Smith is relocating to a new unit – a former hair salon – to make way for M&S. The retailer, which has been closed in recent days, is expected to open at its new home on Monday, The Courier understands. Signage has already appeared on the concourse to advise staff and customers of this move.

    A new tenant has already been found for the soon-to-be vacant shop currently housing Regatta in the Overgate. Luxury sweet firm Hotel Chocolat is currently advertising for staff and The Courier understands it will move into the unit. The centre is going through a bit of a reshuffle as it gears up for the grand opening of Frasers in June. The Courier revealed last week outdoor brand Regatta was closing down and leaving the Overgate.

    A Dundee girl has been left with horrific injuries after a dog attack. The 11-year-old was rushed to Ninewells Hospital after being bitten by the dog at a friend’s house on Balunie Avenue in Douglas last Monday. The youngster was said to have been “ragdolled” as the dog attached itself to her left arm for about 15 seconds. She had to undergo surgery and received about 20 stitches.
