The block, consisting of five 2-bed and four 1-bed flats, will be on land currently used for parking at the rear of Café de China in Marine Gardens in Eaton Hill. Patients on Sandwich Bay Ward, especially those receiving end of life care or who are difficult to position, are now benefiting from two specialist beds we funded at a combined cost of £5k. The beds, one of which is shown being demonstrated by Ward Manager Atim, are fully adjustable, electrically operated and incorporate a lateral lift that assists staff with turning the patient. This significantly enhances the patient’s comfort as well as reducing the physical strain on nursing staff.

Patriotic pupils and staff wore red, white and blue clothing, with the school decked out in Union Flags and bunting.
