Illinois lawmakers are sending a bill to Governor Pritzker’s desk that would take guns out of the hands of accused domestic abusers. The state House passed Karina’s Bill yesterday. The measure would require law enforcement to confiscate guns within 96 hours from people who have an order of protection granted against them. The law is named after Karina Gonzalez, a mother from Chicago. Her husband is charged with shooting and killing her and her 15-year-old daughter in 2023.
