YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The City of Youngstown celebrated LGBTQ+ Pride on Saturday. The celebration of love, inclusivity and community happened along North Phelps Street downtown. The family-friendly event included a parade, music, drag performances, local vendors, talent showcases and community resources. “We have a pride celebration for reasons of visibility and representation. If you see people like you downtown, it makes you not feel as alone,” said Robert Dennick, a drag performer.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Police are investigating after a car was shot up on the city’s west side Saturday evening. It happened around 7 p.m. on the 100 block of North Portland Avenue. Youngstown police say no one was injured. Video shows shell casings and evidence markers on the scene. Less than a block away and just hours earlier, a man was taken to the hospital after being shot in the arm. His injuries were not life-threatening.

LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) — One person has died following a home explosion in Liberty Township Saturday evening. Liberty police confirmed that Justin Braun, 34, died as a result of the explosion. Two other people, including a four-year-old boy, are critically injured. Liberty Fire Chief Douglas Theobald said they were called around 9:25 p.m. to a house on East Montrose Street for a fire, but when crews got there, they saw the house had exploded.
