PHOENIX — Memorial Day weekend will start out breezy across much of the state as a storm system passes to our north. Look for peak wind gusts near 30 mph across the high country on Saturday. Here in the Valley, winds will generally stay light but we could have a few gusts near 20 mph late Saturday afternoon. These winds are ushering in some cooler air, too. Valley temperatures will drop into the upper 90s Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Then, triple digits return for the rest of next week.

PHOENIX — High pressure is building in and sending temperatures soaring across the Valley! We will continue to heat up through Mother's Day weekend with highs peaking near 105 degrees by Sunday. On average, our first 105-degree day of the year tends to happen in late March, so this is a bit sooner than normal. Air quality has been getting worse, too. Ozone High Pollution Advisories continue in the Valley Saturday and Sunday.

PHOENIX — It's a warm start to the weekend in the Valley!Phoenix will climb into the mid 90s again Saturday afternoon, putting us just a few degrees above normal for this time of year. A weak storm system moving through could bring a few isolated showers and thunderstorms to the high country and across northern Arizona, but our Saturday forecast in the Valley looks dry. Then, a stronger storm system will move in on Sunday, bringing gusty winds, rain and snow chances, and a big dose of cool air.

PHOENIX — A storm system moving in from the northwest will crank up our winds over the weekend, leading to increased fire danger across our state. Wind Advisories are in effect along the Mogllon Rim and across northeastern Arizona on Saturday. Winds will be coming out of the south and southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts approaching 50 mph at times. Conditions will be very dry with humidity levels in the single digits, which will lead to high fire danger as those winds pick up.

PHOENIX — Phoenix hit the triple digits for the first time this year! This ties the record for the fourth earliest 100-degree of the year. It also ties the daily heat record of 100 degrees set in 2018. On average, Phoenix sees its first 100-degree day in early May, so this early-season heat comes with a minor to moderate risk of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, especially for children, seniors and outdoor workers.
