WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A few isolated sprinkles during the evening, otherwise becoming partly cloudy late. Light northerly winds. Low: 55. THURSDAY: Following a damp, dreary, and cool Wednesday, partly to mostly sunny skies return thanks to Canadian High Pressure just to the north of Chicago.

MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Winds: S at 10-15 mph. Low: 67. A second consecutive warm and summery day is on tap Tuesday. The day opens with a mix of sun and clouds along with some residual haze from Canadian Wildfire smoke. The clouds will grow thicker later in the day, and especially at night. Some improvement in the upper-level smoke is likely later in the day and Tuesday evening as winds aloft from the south/southwest mix out some of the haze out of area skies temporarily.

It was a chilly start as June began for some areas in Chicagoland, with temperatures as low as the upper 30s during Sunday’s sunrise. But that’s changing quickly. We’re set for plenty of sun Sunday, though it could be hazy due to the Canadian wildfire smoke that’s being blown into our area by northerly winds. Those winds will gradually shift to southeast, however, so temps will rise to the low 70s inland by Sunday afternoon, though it’ll be closer to the mid-60s at the lakefront.

OVERNIGHT: Partly cloudy, light winds, seasonably mild. A few fog patches cannot be ruled out. There’s a slight chance of a shower, but most areas will stay dry. Near 50 degrees at coolest inland locations. Low: 54. Friday begins with a fair amount of sunshine but clouds will quickly begin to gather by or just after lunchtime ahead of an approaching cold front from the north.

Finally, the unseasonably cool air that’s kept Chicagoland in a springtime chill lately is loosening its grip. It may not quite warm to seasonal levels on Thursday, but it’ll at least be close, with high temperatures creeping into the lower 70s for the first time in nearly two weeks. It’ll still remain cooler along the lake, however, with high temps there closer to the mid-60s.
