FRIDAY NIGHT: A good deal of cloudiness, warm. Slight chance of a shower early in the evening. Low: 61. The Father’s Day weekend begins with a fair amount of cloudiness, but a drier northeast wind flow off the lake from a high pressure to the north will scour out the clouds rather expeditiously and result in a fairly pleasant afternoon. High temperatures will warm into the low 80s well inland, but near the lake it will only be in the middle 60s to near 70 degrees.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Cloudy periods, seasonably mild. Light northeast to east winds. Low: 61. Friday won’t be totally free of sunshine, but it will feature far more cloud cover than recent days. An area of low pressure well south of Chicago will move slowly northward into southern Illinois by late Friday evening. This will result in some mainly light showers or even some spotty sprinkles.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Increasing cloudiness, scattered showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm after midnight, but only impacting 20-30% of the metro area. Winds diminish. Low: 65. Far more cloudiness is expected on Thursday, but the bulk of the area should remain rain-free. The lone exception is the far southwest suburbs where a light shower is possible as the northeast winds collide with the relatively warm and moderately humid air.
