    (WKBN) — Service is being restored to Valley customers who lost power during severe thunderstorms Monday. At one point, there were a couple thousand customers without service in Mahoning County and there were sporadic outages elsewhere. FirstEnergy lists the estimated time of restoration at about 8 p.m.According to First Energy, there was a tree that landed on a primary line off Unity Road, damaging some equipment.

Parents and students, kindergarten through fifth grade, were at the elementary school cafeteria Friday evening to see if they were winners. The panel of judges included WKBN’s Trumbull County Reporter Nadine Grimley. While fun, it serves as a reminder to the kids about how to stay safe when they swim and play this summer.
