CHICAGO (WGN) — Two men are dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting in the City’s South Shore neighborhood early Sunday morning. According to the Chicago Police Department, officers were on patrol in the South Shore neighborhood around 2:45 a.m. when they heard gunfire nearby. Police said they tracked the gunfire to a residence in the 7200 block of South Paxton Avenue, where they found three men were shot.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WGN) — A landscaper is being hailed a hero after he helped save the life of a driver whose vehicle veered off the road and into a pond in Naperville. Just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Plainfield Fire Protection District (PFPD), along with the Naperville Fire Department (NFD), responded to a report of a vehicle submerged in a pond near the intersection of Royal Worlington Drive and Route 59 in unincorporated Naperville.

JOLIET, Ill. — Fire crews continue to battle a large blaze Monday morning at a manufacturing facility in southwest suburban Joliet, near the I-55 and Route 59 interchange. Firefighters from multiple departments responded to the blaze at Rovanco Piping Systems, located at 20535 SE Frontage Rd., along the border of Joliet and Shorewood. The company manufactures pre-insulated diesel exhaust and fluid piping systems. Authorities have not yet provided any details on why or when the fire may have started.

FRANKLIN PARK, Ill. — A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash overnight in northwest suburban Franklin Park, near O’Hare International Airport, the Franklin Park Police Department has confirmed. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene, and both northbound and southbound lanes of North Mannheim Road have been closed between Grand Avenue and Waveland Avenue as authorities investigate the crash.

CHICAGO – Two people were wounded and at least one car was damaged by gunfire after an overnight shooting near Loyola University’s campus. The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday along West Devon Avenue between Magnolia Avenue and North Lakewood Avenue. According to the Chicago Police Department, a 29-year-old man, who was shot in the hip and torso, was taken to an area hospital in fair condition. A 31-year-old man, who was shot in the abdomen, was taken to the hospital in fair condition.
