This year, that will include a new requirement from the state: steps to keep schools cool. The measure doesn’t require all schools to suddenly go get A/C, but it does require districts to come up with plans to mitigate extreme heat in classrooms and support service spaces.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A well-known figure in the Rochester area was struck and killed in a hit-and-run this weekend in the city. The Rochester Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit identified the victim as 70-year-old Henry Brown of Rochester. News 8 learned he was a beloved person known by many folks in the East Avenue area from working at Salinger’s Pub for quite some time as a doorman.
