    On Saturday, June 21, the casualty was saved by Coastguard rescue helicopter Rescue 187 following reports of a person in the water off Nells Point. The casualty was then handed over to the Barry Dock RNLI lifeboat crew, as the helicopter had been diverted and returned to base after an earlier shout and was now low on fuel.

    On Wednesday (June 18), the Barry Dock RNLI crew launched their D class inshore lifeboat to assist two swimmers who needed assistance off Nells Point and into Jackson’s Bay. The lifeboat was requested by HM Coastguard around 7pm. One swimmer was spotted clambering out of the water near the headland between Jackson’s Bay and Nells Point whereas a second potential casualty was then located, having just managed to exit the water nearby.
