    Jonathan Richard Edgar (Image: Newsquest) A POLICE pursuit along the A69 saw the officer’s patrol car reach a top speed of 144mph as he attempted to catch up with a fleeing motorist. The car being driven by 41-year-old Alston man, Jonathan Richard Edgar, during the late-night incident ended abruptly when he crashed into a large hedge on a corner, Carlisle’s Rickergate court heard. The defendant denied dangerous driving.
