Car Throttle

Car Throttle

Car Throttle was founded in 2009 by Adnan Ebrahim, who saw a gap in the market for a digital space catering to young car lovers like himself. Often referred to as the 'Buzzfeed for cars', the platform rapidly transformed into a lively community that attracts millions of users, affectionately known as CTzens, who engage with the brand through its applications and popular social media channels. Car Throttle focuses on producing and sharing captivating automotive content, while also collaborating with advertisers aiming to connect with this influential audience. Our investors include notable figures from companies such as AOL, Facebook, Skype, and MailOnline.

There’s a new Nissan Skyline in the works, and with the Japanese brand in some pretty steep financial trouble, we’re not expecting it to take a radical approach with the new car. Of course, the Skyline name is more than just the R-series GT-Rs – it’s been used by Nissan, and previously the Prince Motor Company, as a nameplate across saloons and coupes. Most recently, it appeared on the car better known to the Western world as the Infiniti Q50.

The Indianapolis 500 is Quite A Big Deal when it comes to motorsport. Not only is it considered part of racing’s ‘Triple Crown’ along with the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix, it’s the most-attended single-day sporting event in the entire world, usually attracting crowds of well over 300,000 people on race day. The Mazda MX-5 is brilliant. Yeah, hot take, we know. There’s a reason it’s endured for so long – it absolutely nailed the roadster recipe, with a throaty four-pot engine, manual gearbox and a beautifully balanced rear-drive chassis. Throw in its excellent reliability and attainability, and it’s no wonder most of its rivals gave up trying to beat it.

We’re at the end of the road for the Audi RS6 as we know it. No more will the nameplate be used for cars that’ll exclusively draw power from internal combustion engines. Much like the G90 BMW M5, it’s expected that when the new A6 gets its RS version in a few years' time, it’ll deploy a hybrid V8 powertrain – surely with as much intrigue over the formula as its rival from Munich. More controversially still, though, it’s rumoured an EV could sit alongside that.

Whether you genuinely like to spend your weekends heading out to the back end of nowhere and spending a day doing some serious winching, or just like the idea of looking like you do, there’s plenty of appeal in a car that can handle itself off-road. Obviously, lots of cars these days like to look like they’re capable off-roaders, but there aren’t that many that can properly handle themselves in the rough stuff.
