The Jet2 flight LS881 from Alicante was part-way through its journey on Friday (April 25) when the decision was made to divert it to Barcelona. A Jet2 spokesperson confirmed: "Flight LS881 diverted to Barcelona so that police could offload some disruptive passengers.

    A pensioner was robbed by a group of thugs in balaclavas as he walked home from the pub in Warrington. The robbers threatened the 66-year-old man with a knife and demanded that he empty his pockets and hand over cash. Police are now appealing for witnesses and video footage following the armed robbery, which happened at around 7.45pm on Sunday 20 April. The man had left the Maltings pub on Old Hall Road and was walking home when he was stopped.
