Winnipeg police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection to a number of cats that were found dead. CTV News Winnipeg previously reported that approximately six cats were found in bags on the path under the Summit Road bridge. The animals were found on Dec. 8, Dec. 28, and Dec. 30. Police were able to identify a suspect and he was arrested on Jan. 10. Investigators said the man would lure the cats or get them through social media before injuring and killing them.

A Winnipeg sculptor’s latest creation could also double as a house guard. Leigh Keast, who lives on Aberdeen Avenue, has created a dragon made of snow and ice on his front lawn that is capable of shooting fire. “It’s one-of-a-kind, I believe,” the sculptor told CTV News Winnipeg. Keast said the idea of a fire-breathing dragon came to him one day, and he decided to sculpt it. “It took a little bit longer than normal, really, because I didn't really have any fresh snow,” he said.
