Furnace and hot water tank ($140/month), water softener ($81/month), and security system ($45/month),” the note stated. Traffic and age cause roads to get beat up over time and Pickering streets are no exception. Council recently approved more than $3 million for asphalt resurfacing on 10 city streets. The project is expected to cost more than $3.2 million and it will be reduced to $2.9 million after the HST rebate. The costs include $2.5 million for the contractor to complete the work as well as geotechnical investigation reports, material testing and contingency.
