PUEBLO — A student at Park View Elementary School in Pueblo saved her dad's life when he suffered a medical emergency, and Thursday, the Pueblo Police Department gave her high praise. Sophia Baca was home with her dad when he began having trouble standing up. She called 911 for help. At first, her dad told paramedics he was fine, and they left, but he kept having problems, so Baca again called 911. Eventually, her dad had to go to the hospital.

COLORADO SPRINGS — The U.S. Department of Education announced Monday that it will begin collections on defaulted loans starting May 5. It said more than five million borrowers have not made a monthly payment in over 360 days and sit in default.

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs City Council has changed how and when community members can give public comment for items not on the regular agenda during city council meetings. Previously, the open-ended public comment was limited to three minutes per person for one hour, generally towards the beginning of the meeting. The three minute and one hour limit will not be changing, but now public comment will be held at the end of council's meeting.

They gathered for Mass on Monday at St. John Henry Newman Chapel & Catholic Student Center. News5 met Zavier Morales there. He's a student at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. "Certainly sorrowful. It did hit me like a truck," said Morales. He says Catholic faith has been a part of his whole life, guiding him to who he is today.
