A federal judge has just ordered the release of Badar Khan Suri, a Georgetown University professor and postdoctoral scholar who was arrested by immigration authorities in Northern Virginia in March. U.S. District Judge Patricia Tolliver Giles said Wednesday Khan Suri has not been accused of or convicted of a crime. She said the order for his release is in the public interest because it will disrupt the chilling effect his detention has had on protected political speech.

Residents opposed to the proposal for a new Washington Commanders stadium at the old RFK site in Northeast D.C. expressed concerns at a forum Monday evening. Many at the forum in Ward 7 opposed the plan to spend more than $1 billion of public funds on the project. "We're asking them to pay $1 a year for lease," Ward 7 resident John Capozzi pointed out.

The retailer said it expected comparable sales in the fiscal first quarter to fall 3%, while it anticipates overall sales will drop 5%. The Boston Celtics were bracing for bad news Monday night, and they got it Tuesday. Jayson Tatum has a ruptured right Achilles tendon, the team announced Tuesday afternoon. Tatum underwent "successful" surgery Tuesday after undergoing an MRI earlier in the day in New York and is "expected to make a full recovery," per the Celtics.
