Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters were called to a blaze in a shop with dwellings above yesterday (May 29) at 7pm. Half of the ground floor and a small part of the first floor were alight. Twelve calls were made from concerned people and crews continued to tackle the blaze until it was under control by 11.57pm. However High Street North has remained closed since then, continuing onto this morning (May 30), as firefighters dampen down hotspots.
