If approved, the licence variation would allow it to sell "late night refreshment" until 3am, seven days a week. The takeaway restaurant is currently open between 11am and 11pm each day.

    Rizwan Goni, who lives in Shirley Gardens, was given the ticket late in the evening of May 21 while he was watching the Europa League final at home. It comes after Barking and Dagenham Council started to enforce dropped kerb restrictions, effectively preventing anyone without a waiver from parking outside their own homes. Although Mr Goni has a waiver, this is only valid for his father’s car, which means he risks a fine every time he parks one of his own cars outside his driveway.

    Jonathan Christopher Collyer, 28, and Lisa Ellen Stocker, 29, were arrested on February 1. Prosecutor I Made Dipa Umbara said customs officers halted them at the X-ray machine after finding suspicious items in their luggage disguised as food packages.     John King was one of a small number who survived when HMS Janus was sunk during the Allied landings at Anzio, Italy, in January 1944, despite not being able to swim. He was awarded the Freedom of the Borough by Barking and Dagenham Council on his 100th birthday last November in recognition of his achievements. But his son, Alan King, has told this paper that new parking restrictions imposed by the local authority risk limiting him at the end of his life.
