    LAWRENCE — With a Big 12 Conference announcement Thursday, Kansas basketball’s 18-game league slate for the upcoming campaign became more clear. Kansas will have home-and-home games during the 2025-26 season with Arizona, Iowa State and Kansas State. The Jayhawks’ home-only games will be against Baylor, BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, TCU and Utah.     Evergy has filed a request with the Kansas Corporation Commission to increase electric rates for its Kansas Central customers. If approved, the average residential customer would see their monthly bill increase by about $13.05, or 10%. Public hearings are scheduled for June 11 in Wichita and June 16 in Topeka, with a final KCC decision expected by Sept. 29. Evergy is asking Kansas utility regulators for permission to raise electric rates, increasing how much customers pay to the monopoly each month.
