A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Westside Road Tuesday afternoon. The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision in the 11000 block of Westside Road around 3:45 p.m. May 13. Police officers, ambulances and the local fire department responded. An investigation determined the motorcycle was travelling north when it entered a speed wobble and crossed the centre line, colliding head-on with a pickup truck.

United States military helicopters enjoyed a stop in the Okanagan on Tuesday (May 14). A trio of UH-60 Blackhawks, medium utility helicopters manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft, stopped for fuel at the Penticton Regional Airport on Tuesday (May 14). According to local airport officials, the helicopters took off shortly after filling up. Some residents took to social media on Tuesday, May 13 to report they'd seen the helicopters flying through the South Okanagan skies.

A new commander is heading up the BC Dragoons following a ceremony in Vernon earlier this month, and he has his sights set on continuing to grow the regiment. The BC Dragoons held a Change of Command parade at Sicily Parade Square on 15th Avenue May 3, which marked the official passing of command of the regiment from Lt. Col. Trevor Waaga to Lt. Col. Wade Peters. Brigade commander Col. Paul Lindsay presided over the change of command.
